Live Virus Vaccine Tablets
Infectious Bursal Disease (Gumboro), MB Strain

Description
The vaccine contains a live attenuated infectious Bursal Disease Virus propagated in fertilized eggs from SPF flocks. The attenuated Infectious Bursal Disease virus was first freeze-dried and then tableted and packed in blisters. Its production and testing are in accordance with international standards.
The MB strain is an “Intermediate” stain (same as MB lyophilized in vials)

Presentation
Effervescent tablets contain Infectious Bursal Disease Virus, MB strain in a freeze-dried form.

Indications
This vaccine is indicated for broiler chickens, breeders and layers for the prevention of Infectious Bursal Disease. For best results, birds should be vaccinated at 10-12 days of age. Single vaccination of broiler chicks confers good protection for their whole growing period.

Dosage and Administration
Always consult your veterinarian as to the proper vaccination program.
This vaccine can be administered via drinking water or by eye-drop.
Press the blister to release the tablet into cold boiled water. Make sure that the tablet is fully dissolved while gas is being released. Wait 1-2 minutes until complete dissolution achieved and then mix gently to ensure homogenous dispersion of the vaccine.

Administration via Drinking Water
It is recommended to reconstitute the proper quantity of tablets for vaccination into 1/5 of the daily volume of drinking water. The exact amount of water for reconstitution depends on birds’ age, species and weather conditions. This volume of water containing vaccine should be consumed within 2-3 hours. To neutralize the chlorine in the drinking water, use a commercial chlorine neutralizer according to instructions for use, or add 50ml of skimmed milk or 5 grams of skimmed milk powder to each 1 liter of water. After dissolving the skimmed milk, wait for 5 minutes, and then add the vaccine.
Nipple drinking water systems should be cleaned a few days before vaccination with vinegar (final concentration of 0.5-0.8%, or with citric acid (200-300 grams/1000 liters).

Administration by Eye-Drop
The tablet should be dissolved in cool boiling water, 1000 doses of vaccine in 30-50ml of water (the exact amount of water depends on the type of dropper being used).
Hold the bird pressed in one hand and allow 1 drop to fall into the eye. Release pressure to induce swallowing of the drop and make sure that the vaccine is swallowed before releasing of the bird.
After reconstitution, the vaccine should be applied within 2-3 hours.

General Precautions
1. Birds to vaccinated should be in good health and free of stress such as overcrowding, exposure to excessive heat or cold, malnutrition, etc.
2. Live vaccines are susceptible to air, sunlight, heat, disinfectants and detergents and should not be exposed to these.
3. Ensure proper dosage.
4. Do not use tablets form a punctured section of the blister.
5. Opened blisters and reconstituted vaccines must be used immediately.
6. Do not save any unused portion of vaccine for use on another day.
7. Stop any treatment or disinfection of drinking water 24 hours before vaccination.
8. Make sure that enough drinkers are available so that all birds may have access to water at the same time.
9. Water and drinkers should be clean and with no traces of disinfectants.
10. Do not hat the water containing the vaccine.
11. Thirst birds by stopping water supply 1 to 2 hours before vaccination.
12. Do not start water supply 1 to 2 hours before vaccination.
